When we mention the quality, amazing rich world, unforgettable characters, and leading technology in gaming industry, the first name to come is Rockstar Games.
Rockstar Games launched in the last years of 1990s, the publisher behind huge hits like: Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, Midnight Club, Max Payne, LA Noire, Bully, Manhunt, and more of amazing names that some of them were our childhood memories.
The golden era of this company- in number of games released- was the Gen 6 era -the PS2 and Xbox- with more than 25 games of different franchises released between 2000 and 2007, with amazing names like the phenomenon GTA San Andreas, Midnight Club 3 Dub Remix, and More (So much beautiful memories).
The era of the gen 7- PS3 and Xbox 360- was amazing, with new hits like GTA IV, Midnight Club Los Angeles, Max Payne 3, LA Noire, Red Dead Redemption and the monster GTA V, astonishing era but noticeable decrease in the number of released games compared to gen 6.
Gen 7- PS4 and Xbox One, the worst era in many opinions due to release of only one new game but deserved the waiting, Red Dead Redemption 2, the most realistic open world story game until now with such more focus on details like never before, with also remaster of GTA V on this gen, this gen was the worst era in number of games released with only two main versions, with more focus on the gold mine: GTA Online growing world, along with the infamous release of the remasters GTA The Trilogy Definitive Edition, developed with Unreal Engine 4 and released very buggy and Rockstar still fixing it until now after more than one yeas after released.
The company lost big names behind those amazing line of games, the boss Leslie Benzies, the big one Lazlo, and the phenomenon Dan Houser, these names after their departure the company became a different Rockstar, see the Rockstar on 2015 and Rockstar right now on Twitter, by your self you’ll notice the huge difference.
Now we’re in the gen 9- PS5 and Xbox Series, with a new version of GTA V, GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition release with more frame rates for all games, and no any sign of a new version of RDR 2 until now.
The only good news -or amazing news- is the confirmation of the development of the next entry of GTA series in the beginning of 2022, the world still wait more updates on the most anticipated game of all time, with more hunger to see the official reveal of the new monster that will conquer the world of gaming, but maybe the wait will be long, maybe to the end of 2024 or 2025 to get out hands on that masterpiece.
So the big question is: after the release of GTA VI, what’s next?
The answer is: maybe Rockstar release remastered versions of GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption, the remake of the Max Payne Series with Remedy, remastered version of Red Dead Redemption 2 and a new game on medieval settings that rumored in the last years with the development of Red Dead Redemption 2, along with medium size game like Bully 2.
As you see, the future of Rockstar Games is pretty vague, specially with how is everything in this company kept secret until they find the best time to reveal their new plans.
